Missing Records Alerts
One of the biggest problems with paper-based methods is missing records—and the inability of teachers and management to track or control them. But now, with QuranRecord, you’ll know instantly if even a single record is missing among thousands of students.
Right from the school dashboard, you can see all students with missing attendance or recitation records.
To make it easier for controllers managing hundreds of students, we've introduced color coding:
- Red = Critical – Immediate action required. When a record turns red, the parent of the student will be notified.
- Make sure by the end of the day, all colors turn green. If it's all green, your school is on the right track!
We’ve also added a new “Average” feature. If students in a class are completing all three recitation methods in a day—Lesson, Repetition, and Revision—the class average should be 3, and the color will turn green.
We’ve revamped the entire dashboard for school controllers and added alerts for teachers directly on the class dashboard.
To ensure accurate tracking, make sure to set your school calendar. If you don’t set a calendar, the system will mark records as missing—even on holidays.
QuranRecord – The only platform dedicated to perfecting your Quran recitation records.
Missing Attendance Alerts
Teachers, controllers, and parents can now view if any student's attendance record is missing for a class within the past 3 workdays. This helps ensure that all records are complete and up to date.
Teachers can view the missing attendance banner directly on the class dashboard.
Controllers can see the missing records from the mosque or school dashboard.
Parents will be able to view only critical missing records if they are not submitted on time.
We divide missing attendance into three types:
- Blue – Info – Notifies the teacher if today's class attendance is missing.
- Orange – Warning – Alerts the teacher and controller that yesterday's attendance has not been recorded.
- Red – Critical – Alerts the teacher and controller that attendance for the class held the day before yesterday is still missing, and today is the last day to record it. Critical records are also visible to parents, who may request the school to update them.
Missing attendance may affect student performance in upcoming updates. Please ensure attendance is added for all workdays.
To use this feature, please ensure the calendar is properly set up and assigned to each class. If you need help with setup, feel free to contact us.

Keep Parents Informed with the Calendar
Whether your classes are regular, weekend, or summer programs, use the calendar to keep parents informed of daily activities. This tool fills many of the gaps left by traditional paper-based methods — especially by reminding teachers if they miss adding a student’s record or attendance.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be enhancing this feature further to automatically send class reports to controllers. Many of our upcoming features will rely on your school’s calendar. Without a calendar assigned to a class, those features cannot be used.
You can create unlimited calendars — we haven’t placed any restrictions. Simply create one (e.g., Summer Classes), assign it to a class, and QuranRecord will take care of the rest.
If you manage multiple schools, you can even copy a calendar from one school to another. And of course, our support team is always here to assist you if needed.
❗ Note: Calendars and all upcoming modules are only available to active mosques or schools on QuranRecord. If your school is registered but shows no activity for a while, the system will automatically deactivate the account.
How to Use the Calendar
- Go to your school dashboard, click “Calendar”, then click “Create Your First Calendar.”
- Add a calendar name (e.g., Regular Classes or Weekend Program), and include notes — these notes are visible only to controllers and can explain why you're creating the calendar. Then, click “Save Calendar.”
- Click on the calendar you just created, then add activities. Be sure to read the instructions provided there for how to add them correctly. Once added, these activities will appear in the calendar view.
- When you're done, return to the calendar overview by clicking on the calendar name.
- FIRST VIEW YOUR FULL CALENDAR BEFORE GOING TO THE LAST STEP.
- The final step: assign the calendar to your classes by clicking the “Assign Calendar to Classes” button.
Once set up, when you open the class dashboard, you, the teachers, and the parents will see today’s and tomorrow’s activities, along with the full class calendar.
Attendance Search for Students
When you view a student’s profile, you can now filter their attendance by a custom date range — not just by month. Simply select the start and end dates to get detailed results.
Advanced Student Management
We’ve moved the Student Section from the mosque dashboard to a completely new page. Now, you can search and filter students using many different categories — such as:
- Active or Hidden students
- By Quran progress
- Parent registration status
- And much more
This update gives you a faster and more powerful way to manage students efficiently.
QuranRecord in Arabic (Beta)
With the help of some amazing individuals, we now have QuranRecord available in Arabic! We’re releasing it as a beta version — which means we’re open to improvements. If you notice any spelling or grammar issues, please let us know.
Your help in reviewing the Arabic version is greatly appreciated. We have limited manpower, and in some areas, we rely on your support. Looking forward to your feedback!
New SMS Notifications for Parents
We are pleased to announce a new update designed to benefit all families—especially those in rural areas or those using iOS devices, as we currently do not have an iOS app available.
Parents can now receive direct SMS notifications for any updates to their child's profile at the mosque, madrasa, or school. This includes:
- Progress updates
- Attendance alerts
- Remarks or feedback from teachers
To activate this feature:
- Contact your school to enable SMS updates and activate the SMS module in QuranRecord.
- Controllers must:
- Add the parent’s mobile number to the student profile (with international dialing code, e.g., 1 or 44).
- Go to School Dashboard > SMS Settings and select when SMS should be triggered (e.g., new records, remarks, attendance).
About the SMS Provider:
We are using Twilio for global SMS delivery. When you sign up, you'll get $15 in free credits, enough for about 1,300 SMS messages. You can later recharge to continue the service.
Please Note:
- Payments are made directly to Twilio, not to QuranRecord.
- We have no financial connection with Twilio.
- For billing issues, contact Twilio Support.
- For setup or configuration, feel free to contact the QuranRecord team.
We are simply here to support families—especially those with limited internet access.
